15 Lakhs for my sisters dead body!! - A story on Times Now!
Preeti Vikas Singhani got married to Vikas with the hope of starting a new life, but little did she know that, life had other plans for her. Vikas was a store manager in Sierra Leone and soon after her marriage the harassment for dowry started, and after 12 days Preethi's parents got a call from Vikas's family that their daughter had ended her life without giving any reasons.
You would get shocked at finding out that imposed suicides still occur in this time and age, to top this, we find out that Preethi's body has not even been sent back to her family yet, and its been more 28 days since this happened, and Vikas is asking for 15 lakhs to send the body back. Preethi's parents would have never imagined that they will have to pay and bargain for their own daughters body. This incident shows how the love for money can even dehumanize individuals and take away their sensitivity completely.
Vikas's family has been arrested here but that does ot help one bit in getting Preethi's body back to her parents. Parents who married their daughter off with great joy, only to to utterly shocked with what a twisted turn their daughters life would take.
This is a case not only about Preethi, around 7000 women are killed or kill themselves every year for dowry harassment.
There were 24183 cases pending in court for Dowry harassment in 2006.

This number would have increased to an incredibly high number if you add the whole of 07' and half of 08'.
We say, stop calling India a developing country, India is a developed country, but I ask you, does this happen in developed countries?
Unless the attitude towards women does not change in this country India will not be fully developed, yes, India will be secure economically but not emotionally.
The people of India must realize that women are not just child bearing machines and people to run their household, they are much more than that, and they have to get that in their head weather they believe it or not!!
So, Respect women, they are the reason you are sitting on your chair and reading this entry!!

Same to same but different!
Wel, the other night i was makin chocolate sauce to eat with vanilla ice cream and as you must know, making chocolate sauce does not include more than a few ingredients - uhhh, ok I'm cutting the crap, I added glucose instead of icing sugar (powdered sugar) and . . . ok I'm gonnna cut the crap cuz I'm in no mood to write crap, the point here is that, both glucose and icing sugar looked the same to me, I never thought of tasting what I was putting in my chocolate sauce, I jus took it and put and after the whole thing was ready, I found out what the blunder I had done.
The same way in life, things that look same may not be all that similar, like twins, and also, we many a time judge things by just looking at them, we don't go deep inside and look, that maybe, just maybe, there must be something more to it than what meets the eye.
We must learn to look at thins more closely, it could be difficult at times, but sometimes you have to do it.
"Sometimes people build walls around themselves not to keep other people out, but just to see who cares enough to break them."
So, next time something is wrong, don't look at the surface and say its ok, remember, "Still waters run deep."
